About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Import Coordinator to manage and streamline all our imported shipments into Egypt. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for end-to-end import operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, efficient customs clearance, and timely delivery of goods while minimizing logistics costs.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Shipment Management: Oversee all imported shipments from origin to final warehouse destination, tracking milestones and proactively resolving bottlenecks.
Customs Clearance & Documentation: Coordinate closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and shipping lines to ensure accurate documentation (Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, ACID numbers, etc. ) compliant with Egyptian customs regulations.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with Egyptian regulatory bodies (such as GOEIC, Nafeza, and relevant ministries) to ensure all imports meet current standards and clearance protocols.
Cost Optimization & Vendor Management: Negotiate freight rates, handling fees, and storage charges with shipping agents, forwarders, and transport providers to maintain cost-effective operations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with Procurement, Sales, Finance, and Warehouse teams to keep stakeholders informed of shipment statuses and arrival schedules.
Dispute & Claim Management: Handle discrepancies, damages, or insurance claims with suppliers, carriers, and insurance companies efficiently.
Reporting: Maintain accurate logs, shipment trackers, and key performance indicator (KPI) reports regarding transit times, clearance costs, and vendor performance.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven experience in import operations, logistics, or supply chain management, specifically within the Egyptian market.
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth familiarity with Egyptian customs procedures, the Nafeza system, ACID (Advanced Cargo Information Declaration) process, and standard import documentation.
Skills:
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and logistics/ERP software.
High attention to detail with strong problem-solving capabilities.
Languages: Excellent command of both written and spoken Arabic and English.
